Absence Hypertensive

Absence hypertensive: features of manifestation and treatment

Hypertensive absence seizure is a rare neurological disease that is manifested by increased muscle tone and spasms. This type of absence seizure is complex, meaning that it is accompanied not only by loss of consciousness, but also by characteristic body movements.

The main manifestation of hypertensive absence seizure is convulsive muscle contraction, which manifests itself in the form of extension of the head and abduction of the eyeballs upward. In this case, a backward arching of the body may also be observed. These movements can last several seconds and be repeated several times a day.

The causes of hypertensive absence seizure are not fully understood. However, it is known that this disease is associated with disorders in the functioning of the brain, namely with dysfunction of the hypothalamus, an area of the brain responsible for the regulation of many vital functions.

To diagnose hypertensive absence seizures, doctors use various research methods, including electroencephalogram (EEG), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and others.

Treatment of hypertensive absence seizure usually involves the use of anticonvulsants such as carbamazepine or sodium valproate. Physiotherapy and rehabilitation may also be prescribed.

In general, hypertensive absence seizure is a serious disease that requires timely diagnosis and treatment. If you or a loved one suspect this disease, contact a neurologist for consultation and prescribing the necessary treatment.

Absence seizures, or petit epileptic seizures, are known primarily for their suddenness and short duration. But at the same time, they are also dangerous - in conditions of unpreparedness and self-deception, an attack can end much worse than its participants would like.
