Acidosis Transient Neonatal Period

Transitional acidosis of the newborn (neonatal acidosis) is a condition that can occur in infants in the first days of life. This condition is associated with a violation of the acid-base balance of the body and is characterized by increased acidity of the blood.

Neonatal acidosis can be caused by various factors, such as poor maternal nutrition during pregnancy, birth trauma, hypoxia (lack of oxygen) and other factors. Symptoms of neonatal acidosis may include fussiness, crying, poor appetite, vomiting, diarrhea and other symptoms.

Treatment for neonatal acidosis depends on the cause of the condition. In some cases, hospitalization and special procedures such as intravenous fluids may be required.

It is important to remember that neonatal acidosis is a temporary condition and usually resolves on its own within a few days. However, if symptoms persist or worsen, you should consult a doctor for advice and treatment.
