Antigen Heterologous

Introduction

Heterologous antigens are microorganisms, cells and tissues that have antigenic activity against representatives of other species or genera. These microorganisms are heterologous to the recipient organism - human or other animal. In this regard, the use of heterologous antigens is quite limited, especially in clinical practice.

One of the important elements in the immune system is the concept of antigenotype, which was proposed by academician Rapoport in 1947. He suggested that the body can respond to a foreign antigen even if this antigen has never previously encountered the immune system [1
