Artery Patellar Recurrent

_Artery genicular_ _recurrent, a. gen. recurrens_, is a paired arterial vessel of small diameter connecting the femoral artery with the popliteal artery. It is located medial to the cavity of the knee joint and is surrounded by 4-5 muscles, mainly the semitendinosus, semimembranosus, biceps and triceps femoris muscles. The superficial peroneal nerve and the round saphenous vein sometimes pass through the upper section.
