Bone atrophy

Bone atrophy (Latin *atrophia* from *atro—* “killed” and *physis* — “cavity, body”) is the thinning and hardening of bone tissue, which leads to noticeable deviations in bone growth and its functional properties.

These can be both young and old people. Men are most susceptible to pathology, unlike women. Among men, osteopenia occurs most often, in about half of the cases. Osteoporotic fractures significantly worsen the pathology.
