Azactam: instructions for use

Azactam is a type of beta-lactam antibiotic manufactured by Bristol-Myers Squibb in the United States and Italy. The international name of this drug is aztreonam. Azactam is a powder for the preparation of an injection solution.

Indications for the use of azactam include the treatment of severe complicated bacterial infections that can occur in any part of the body, even in the case of multi-resistant pathogens, but sensitive to aztreonam. However, Azactam should not be used if you are allergic to this drug. In addition, the drug should be used with caution during pregnancy and lactation, as it penetrates the placental barrier and is excreted in milk.

Side effects of Azactam may include local reactions, skin rashes, nausea and diarrhea. Interaction of Azactam with other drugs and antibiotics is unacceptable.

An overdose of Azactam can lead to serious consequences. There is no data on the dosage of the drug, so you must strictly follow the instructions for use indicated on the package.

If the entire vial of Azactam is not to be used at once, it should be stored in the refrigerator for no more than 24 hours at a temperature of 4-7°C.
