B-Particle

b-particle - see Beta particle.

A beta particle is an elementary particle that is an electron or positron. Beta particles arise from the beta decay of atomic nuclei or from the annihilation of particles and antiparticles. They have a negative or positive electrical charge and a fairly low mass compared to other elementary particles. Beta particles play an important role in nuclear reactions and radioactive decay processes. Their study made a great contribution to the development of particle physics and quantum mechanics.
