Baktoreduct is a combined antimicrobial agent produced by the German company Atsupharma GmbH. The international name of the drug is Co-trimoxazole. It consists of two active substances - sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim.

Bactoreduct is used to treat various infections caused by bacteria, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, urogenital infections, gastrointestinal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as to prevent relapses of bronchitis and pneumonia. It can also be used in complex therapy for the treatment of septicemia, meningitis, osteomyelitis and other severe infections.

However, like any other medicine, Baktoreduct has contraindications and can cause side effects. This is a drug from the sulfonamide group, so it is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to this group of drugs or to trimethoprim. It is also not recommended for use in cases of liver or kidney failure, agranulocytosis, leukopenia, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, pregnancy, breastfeeding and childhood (up to 2 months for oral administration and up to 6 years for parenteral administration).

Possible side effects of Baktoreduct may include gastrointestinal disorders, allergic reactions, hematopoiesis and urinary system disorders. Therefore, before you start taking this drug, you must consult your doctor and strictly follow his recommendations.
