Biopolymers

Biopolymers are substances that are created by living organisms and are used to perform various functions in their bodies. They include proteins, carbohydrates, fats, nucleic acids, as well as more complex compounds such as cellulose and chitin.

Biopolymers play an important role in the life of animals and plants, performing many functions such as defense, transport, energy storage, communication and reproduction. For example, proteins are the building blocks of cells and enable their functions such as movement, growth and division. Carbohydrates and fats are also essential elements for maintaining growth, and nucleic acids play a key role in the transmission of hereditary traits from parents to offspring.

In addition, biopolymers can be used in other fields such as medicine, chemistry, textiles and food processing. Some biopolymer materials, such as collagen or chitosan,
