The drug contains an active substance - diltiazem, which blocks calcium channels in the myocardium and vascular smooth muscle, which leads to a decrease in cardiac contractility and dilation of peripheral vessels. This lowers blood pressure and reduces the load on the heart.

Blockalcin 90 Retard is used for the treatment of angina, prevention of coronary spasm during coronary angiography or coronary artery bypass surgery, arterial hypertension, after myocardial infarction (mainly retard forms, when beta-blockers are contraindicated), in patients with concomitant angina (if there are contraindications to the use of beta-blockers). adrenergic blockers), in patients with diabetic nephropathy (when angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors are contraindicated). The drug is also used to relieve paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (in combination with digoxin), paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia and to prevent graft failure after kidney transplantation.

The drug is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to its components, cardiogenic shock, left ventricular systolic dysfunction, including acute myocardial infarction, sinus bradycardia, sick sinus syndrome, sinoatrial and AV block II-III degree, severe aortic stenosis, Wolff-Parconson syndrome -White and Lown-Ganong-Levin with paroxysms of atrial fibrillation or flutter, impaired liver and kidney function, childhood, pregnancy and lactation.
