Diltizem SR is a drug from the group of calcium channel blockers. Produced in Turkey by Mustafa Nevzat Ilac Sanayii A.S. The international nonproprietary name is Diltiazem.
Indications for use:
- Angina pectoris
- Prevention of coronary spasm during coronary angiography and coronary artery bypass grafting
- Hypertension
- Heart rhythm disturbances
Contraindications:
- Increased sensitivity
- Severe bradycardia
- AV block
- Acute myocardial infarction
- Pregnancy, lactation
Side effects:
- Hypotension, bradycardia
- Dizziness, headache
- Dyspepsia
- Allergic reactions
Dosage forms:
- Extended-release tablets 90 mg, 120 mg
Interacts with digoxin, beta blockers, and other antihypertensive drugs.
Monitoring of ECG and blood pressure is required during parenteral administration. An overdose is dangerous by the development of severe bradycardia and heart failure.
