Dipyridamole-Ferein: use, side effects and contraindications

Dipyridamole-Ferein is an antiplatelet agent used for the prevention of thromboembolic complications after cardiac surgery, stent occlusion and coronary artery bypass grafts, as well as for the treatment of peripheral vascular diseases and disseminated intravascular coagulation syndrome in children.

Dipyridamole-Ferein is produced in Russia by the company Bryntsalov-A and contains the active ingredient dipyridamole. It is available in the form of film-coated tablets, each dosed at 25 mg.

This drug can be used in combination with aspirin to prevent thromboembolic complications after heart surgery and to prevent recurrent strokes in ischemic stroke.

Dipyridamole-Ferein can also be prescribed for the prevention of placental insufficiency during complicated pregnancy, as well as for the treatment and prevention of disseminated intravascular coagulation syndrome in children with infectious toxicosis and septicemia.

Contraindications to the use of Dipyridamole-Ferein include hypersensitivity to the active substance, acute myocardial infarction, severe atherosclerotic lesions of the coronary vessels with a developed system of collaterals, predisposition to hypotension, severe intraventricular conduction disorders, severe arterial hypertension, severe liver dysfunction, hemorrhagic diathesis, obstructive diseases lungs, II and III trimesters of pregnancy, childhood and adolescence (up to 12 years).

Side effects of Dipyridamole-Ferein may include nausea, abdominal discomfort, facial flushing, coronary steal syndrome (exacerbation of coronary heart disease), headaches, dizziness, bleeding, hypotension, thrombocytopenia, changes in platelet function, tachycardia, bradycardia, weakness and rash .
