Inside the lysosomes, the object is digested and the breakdown products are released into the environment to prevent re-infection.

In addition, phagocytes also play a role in regulating inflammation. During inflammation, phagocytes release various chemicals that cause increased blood flow and the influx of other immune cells into the area of ​​inflammation. This helps speed up the healing process and repair damaged tissue.
