Botanical description.
An evergreen tree about 20 m in height, dioecious, leaves imparipinnate, flowers in multi-flowered panicles. It grows in the tropics of East and Central Africa, on Kilimanjaro and in the Uzambara Mountains.

Active ingredients: tannins, acyl-phloroglucides.
