Gametic Set of Chromosomes

The gametic set of chromosomes is a set of chromosomes that are found in the egg or sperm of representatives of all living species. The genetic combinations characteristic of each species are determined by this set.

The genetic code of a plant comes from a set of genes that contribute to the formation of the gamete set of chromosomes at the time

The gametic set of chromosomes is the totality of all DNA molecules (hemikaryon) containing the sequence of both alleles of the genes of a given organism. During meiosis I, Drosophila genes form four gametes, each containing only one allele of each gene. After the fusion of two gametes of this type, a zygote is formed containing a complete set of chromosomes and DNA molecules. Consequently, during mitosis, all cells containing a complete haploid or hemicaryon set of chromatids form a diploid zygote.
