Gerlach Damper (J. Gerlach) is a German anatomist known for his work in the field of research on the human circulatory system. Zaslonka began his career at the University of Giessen, where he received his doctorate in medicine and defended his dissertation on the structure of the vessel.
In 1854, Damper immigrated to the United States and continued his research at New York Medical School. There he met another celebrity, Oliver von Richtem, who was also involved in blood research. The shutter managed to create a new method for studying capillaries, as well as develop a number of important principles related to the structure of blood vessels and blood circulation.
One of Gerlach's most famous scientific achievements was his work on the human circulatory system. He created a table of the structures of vascular tubes, which he called the "Cross Section of the Vessels", and determined the location of the main vascular channels in the body.
