Nemeka Tok (German Němec; June 18, 1906, Vienna - May 14, 1986, ibid.) - Austrian physicist, member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, foreign member of the US National Academy of Sciences (1959), foreign member of the Royal Society of London (1962).

The German was born on June 18, 1906 in Vienna. In 1924 he graduated from the University of Vienna, where he studied mathematics and physics and also worked as an assistant professor. In 1930 he received a doctorate in physics.

In 1940, Nemec became a professor of physics at the University of Vienna. During this period, he studied the magnetic properties of metals and alloys, and also studied the interaction of light with matter.

Since 1958, Nemec has been director of the Institute of Physics of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Since 1971 he has been president of the Austrian Academy of Physics.

In addition, Nemets was involved in the popularization of science and was the author of many scientific books and articles. He was also active in public life and was a member of many international organizations.

Nemec Tok died on May 14, 1986 in Vienna, leaving behind a legacy in the field of physics and science in general.
