Hyperploid [Iper- + (Di)Ploi]

Hyperploidy is a hereditary pathology caused by hereditary changes in the karyotype with too much (hyperdiploid) or too little (hypodiploid; also aneuploidy) number of chromosomes in cells and the organism as a whole. This phenomenon is very common among various types of plants and animals (leaves, flowers, tree leaves, buds, pine needles). Species that appear as a result of a mosaic set of chromosome numbers were called chromallens (Chromalies) by the botanist Ernst Werner.
