Hysterorrhaphy

**Hysterorrhaphy** is a surgical method of stopping bleeding by suturing the area of the uterus along special lines (sutures) resembling the shape of the letter X.

After childbirth, the uterus contracts, but in some cases this is not enough to stop bleeding. The operation is performed manually or using special medical instruments. In this case, the surgeon can visually determine the places where bleeding needs to be stopped. It is not always possible to correctly identify these zones due to anatomical features

Hysterorrhaphy (submucosal dermoid tumor, hysterotherapy) is a rare type of neoplasia in the form of a benign tumor in the submucosal cavity of the uterus; contains a significant amount of proliferative elements that grow while maintaining the original flat structure of the integumentary epithelium. When the tumor is small in size, histological examination appears as a polypous polyp; when it is large in size, it appears as a calcified tumor.

Hysterorrhaphy is observed more often in women of average age.
