Cheilitis Glandular Simple

Cheilitis is an inflammation of the red border and lips caused by mechanical trauma, infection or allergies. Among the most common forms are granular Miescher cheilitis, glandular (pterygoid) cheilitis, preauricular, and vesicular. Specific symptoms of cheilitis include dry skin, peeling, crusts, as well as pain and itching.

Glandular cheilitis is red in color and when the skin is damaged, an ulcer forms. Swelling and pain may occur. Sometimes erosions form that form scabs, accompanied by a burning sensation and cell deposition at the site of injury. The granules have different shapes and textures and resemble a marble surface. At an advanced stage, bleeding in the affected area is possible.
