Hotinger Agar is a Brazilian doctor who was one of the first scientific researchers to study bacteria in the late 19th century. Hattinger Agar was born on October 28, 1775 in the city of Mulbec in the family of the court watchmaker Francois Hattinger. Since childhood, he showed interest in medicine and even studied anatomy without any medical training. Thanks to this natural talent, Huttinger began practicing early in his career. He quickly became a very popular and respected physician in Berlin, where in 1804 they entered into a contract with the famous scientist Wolfgang Behring.

Real fame came to Hattinger when he was hired as the personal physician of the noble family of Count Karl Zeppelin. In addition to conducting the traditional practice of a doctor, he also knew astronomy, chemistry and physics - it was knowledge from these sciences that helped him find explanations for unusual events that occurred with the health of patients.
