Ibufen

Ibufen: an effective anti-inflammatory drug

Ibufen, whose international name is ibuprofen, is one of the most widely used anti-inflammatory drugs in the world. It belongs to the pharmacological group of propionic acid derivatives, which have anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects.

Ibufen is produced in various countries, including Poland and Russia. Some of the well-known manufacturers are Medana Pharma Terpol group from Poland, Synthesis AKO from Kurgan (Russia) and Terpol from Poland.

The drug is available in various dosage forms such as oral suspension and oral suspension. The concentration of ibuprofen in suspension is 2%, and there is also a form with a concentration of 100 mg/5 ml. The active substance is ibuprofen itself.

Ibufen is widely used in medicine to treat various conditions. It is effective for rheumatoid arthritis, reactive synovitis with deforming osteoarthritis, psoriatic arthritis, acute joint attack with gout, ankylosing spondylitis (Bechterew's disease) and other inflammatory diseases of the joints. It can also be prescribed for pain in the back, muscles, head, teeth, flu, colds and feverish conditions.

However, there are some contraindications to the use of ibuprofen. It should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to the drug, gastric and duodenal ulcers in the acute phase, nonspecific ulcerative colitis, “aspirin” asthma, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, hemorrhagic diathesis, severe dysfunction of the liver and kidneys, portal hypertension, arterial hypertension, heart failure , diseases of the optic nerve and during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

When using ibuprofen, side effects may occur, such as dyspeptic disorders (nausea, heartburn, vomiting), headache, dizziness, insomnia, visual disturbances, swelling, increased blood pressure, thrombocytopenia, allergic reactions and others.

It is also important to consider possible interactions of ibuprofen with other drugs. It can reduce the antihypercoagulant effect of aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, enhance the effect of anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, diuretics, antihypertensive drugs, and also affect the effectiveness of some antidepressants and antihypertensive drugs. Therefore, before using ibuprofen, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist for individual recommendations and to avoid unwanted interactions.

If you experience side effects or unusual reactions to ibuprofen, you should seek immediate medical attention.
