Indolethylamine

Tryptamines are a group of compounds belonging to the class of biogenic amines (monoamines). Tryptamine is a neurotransmitter amino acid found in all parts of the nervous system. The main metabolite and main precursor of serotonin is tryptamine aminon, the structure of which presumably arose from the amino acid tryptophan molecule. Indolethylamine is a semisynthetic analogue of tryptamine, a derivative of the hormonal group “ester” of amino acid amides. Indolethylamine is able to enhance the mediator effect of serotonin, increasing sensitivity
