Original feces are also known as meconium. This is because meconium is the primary excretion and feces is the secondary excretion. Meconium stool has a bright yellow or greenish color and a fairly dense consistency. It may contain white blood, a sign that the baby may be experiencing slight bleeding as a result of meconium passing through tears in the intestinal lining. However, usually after a few days the baby begins to produce normal stool, and the problem goes away on its own.
