Captopril Stada International: Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor

Captopril Stada International is a drug belonging to the group of antihypertensive drugs - angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE inhibitors). It is manufactured by Stada Arzneimittel AG in Germany and is used to treat hypertension, congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathy, stable left ventricular dysfunction in patients after myocardial infarction and diabetic nephropathy in the setting of type 1 diabetes mellitus.

Captopril is the active ingredient of the drug and is an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor. This enzyme is involved in the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, which is a strong constrictor and increases blood pressure. Inhibiting this process helps lower blood pressure and improve heart function.

Captopril Stada International is presented in the form of tablets with a dosage of 25 mg and 50 mg. It is not recommended for use in cases of hypersensitivity to captopril, anamnestic information about the development of Quincke's edema with previous prescription of ACE inhibitors, hereditary or idiopathic Quincke's edema, primary hyperaldosteronism, pregnancy and breastfeeding.
