Cardicap is widely used for the treatment of angina pectoris, including the relief and prevention of attacks, as well as acute myocardial infarction, acute left ventricular failure, hypertension and congestive heart failure. However, the drug has a number of contraindications, including hypersensitivity, anemia, cerebral hemorrhage or recent head trauma, glaucoma, hyperthyroidism, hypotension, pregnancy, lactation (breastfeeding must be stopped) and childhood.

Side effects from taking Cardicap may include flushing of the face and neck, headache, nausea, vomiting, orthostatic hypotension, restlessness and tachycardia. The interaction of Cardicap with other drugs and alcohol may increase hypotension or reduce the antianginal effect.

In case of an overdose of Cardicap, cyanosis of the lips and nails, severe dizziness or fainting, a feeling of pressure in the head, weakness, shortness of breath, weak and rapid heartbeat, increased body temperature and convulsions may occur. Treatment of overdose is symptomatic.

To prevent the development of tolerance (addiction) to the drug, it is recommended that after 3-6 weeks of regular use, take a break for 3-5 days.
