Ketrodol

Ketrodol is an anti-inflammatory drug, a derivative of pyrrolizine carboxylic acid, used to relieve moderate to severe pain. The drug is available in the form of film-coated tablets containing 10 mg of the active substance ketorolac, as well as in the form of an injection solution with a concentration of 30 mg/ml.

Ketrodol is produced by Deva Holding in Turkey and has the international name ketorolac. In addition, the drug is known under such synonyms as Adolor, Dolak, Ketalgin, Ketanov, Ketorol, Ketorolac, Ketorolac tromethamine, Nato, Toradol, Torolac.

The drug is used to relieve pain in various diseases, including postoperative pain, joint pain due to injuries with ligament rupture, dislocations, sprains, as well as back and muscle pain.

Ketrodol has a number of contraindications, including hypersensitivity to aspirin and other NSAIDs, impaired renal function, hypovolemia, dehydration, hematopoietic disorders, pregnancy, breastfeeding, early childhood (up to 2 years) and others. The drug may also cause side effects such as dry mouth, dyspepsia, gastrointestinal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, pallor, dizziness, nervousness, depression, drowsiness, edema, dyspnea, bronchial asthma, impaired taste and vision, vasodilation, increased urination, oliguria and others.

When using Ketrodol, it is necessary to take into account possible interactions with other drugs, for example, lithium, pentoxifylline, probenecid, anticoagulants and other NSAIDs. In addition, the drug may reduce the diuretic effect of furosemide in normovolemic individuals and increase the likelihood of renal dysfunction when used simultaneously with ACE inhibitors.

In case of an overdose of Ketrodol, symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, impaired renal function and others may develop.

Thus, Ketrodol is an effective anti-inflammatory agent, but its use should be carried out with caution, taking into account possible side effects and contraindications, as well as potential interactions with other drugs. Before starting to use Ketrodol, you must consult your doctor and strictly follow the recommendations for dosage and duration of use.
