Colpopexy

Colpopexy, colpoplasty (from the ancient Greek κολπος - cervix + πεξις - attachment), also sling perineovaginopexy is a surgical operation to strengthen the walls of the vagina and restore tone to the pelvic muscles in case of urinary incontinence. A type of pelvic floor plastic surgery. Used in conjunction with all supporting exercises.

Colpoplasty is performed mainly in patients during menopause or after childbirth to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles and prevent the formation of urinary incontinence. Before the operation is carried out

Colpoperineovaginography (vaginovotesticular diaphragmopexy deformity) (colpoperineocolpopexy, video colpoperineocolpopexy) is a surgical method for the surgical treatment of stress urinary incontinence in women. It is also the only known method of treating colliculitis in elderly patients (anesthesia is contraindicated). Mainly used in cases of combined disease - insufficiency of the pelvic floor muscles along with weakness of the vaginal muscles. Most often, this treatment is carried out between the ages of 50 and 65 years, in adulthood and old age. It is also often used in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse, diseases of the vaginal walls, after genital surgery, and inflammatory processes.

Colpopexy is a surgical operation aimed at strengthening or restoring the muscles and ligaments of the pelvic organs. It can be performed both to eliminate the symptoms of incontinence and to prevent its occurrence. During the surgical procedure, the doctor strengthens or restores the muscle tissue of the vagina, cervix and other tissues, which reduces the risk of developing incontinence in women, especially in old age. In addition, colpopexy during or after childbirth helps reduce the risk of rupture of the perineal muscles and restore their full function.

This procedure is carried out by sewing to the cervix a small part of the vaginal wall, which was previously cut off and turned inside out. After this, intravaginal threads are introduced that reliably hold the cervix during sports, as well as during sexual intercourse.
