Crurotomy

Crurotomy is a surgical procedure performed to remove part of the lower leg bone. It may be necessary for various diseases and injuries, such as fractures, arthritis, osteomyelitis and others.

Before the operation, diagnostics are performed, which include x-rays, computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging. This allows you to determine the exact area of the lesion and choose the optimal treatment method.

During the operation, the surgeon makes an incision in the skin, then enters the cavity of the leg and removes the part of the bone that needs to be removed. After this, bone tissue is restored using special materials and implants.

Crurotomy is a rather complex operation that requires a highly qualified surgeon and special equipment. However, thanks to modern technologies and the experience of doctors, this operation is carried out successfully and allows the patient to be restored to health.

Crurotomy is a surgical intervention in the treatment of surgical diseases for which the main treatment method is cutting the rectus femoris muscle with parallel resection of bone tissue (rather than removing muscle, fascial, ligamentous and/or tendon structures). Crurotomy surgery is one of the most difficult operations in lower extremity surgery and is often accompanied by serious complications due to the division of the rectus femoris muscles.
