The uncinate process (lat. processus uncinātus “jagged”) is a crescent-shaped bone formation located on the posterior surface of the tubercle of the occipital bone. When palpating the skull, it is sometimes felt under the occipital protuberance. It is attached to the occipital crest of the arch of the atlas and is involved
