Laminectomy or exploparatory laminotomy (lat. laminectomy exploratoria - “splitting of the vertebrae to examine the spinal cord”) is an X-ray diagnostic operation on the spine, during which part of the adjacent vertebrae, intervertebral disc, spinal cord is completely or partially removed.
