Lecrolin

Lecrolin: an effective antiallergic drug from Finland

Lecrolin is an antiallergic drug produced in Finland by the pharmaceutical companies Leiras and Santen. Its international name is cromoglicic acid. Lecrolin is widely used to treat various allergic conditions.

One of the main advantages of Lecrolin is its variety of dosage forms. The drug is available in the form of eye drops, nasal spray, inhalation forms and capsules. This variety allows you to choose the most convenient and effective form of application, depending on the specific allergic manifestation.

Lecrolin eye drops are used to treat acute and chronic allergic conjunctivitis, keratitis, dry eye syndrome and other allergic reactions associated with the eyes. The nasal spray is effective for year-round and seasonal allergic rhinitis, as well as hay fever. Inhalation forms of Lecrolin are used to treat bronchial asthma, including the atopic form, physical exertion and the asthmatic triad, as well as chronic bronchitis with broncho-obstructive syndrome.

Cromoglicic acid, which is the active substance of Lecrolin, has an antiallergic effect. It helps reduce inflammation and hyperresponsiveness of the airways, preventing the body from allergic reactions.

Despite its effectiveness, Lecrolin has some contraindications and side effects. The drug is not recommended for use in case of hypersensitivity to its components, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. For children under 2 years old (for metered dose aerosol - up to 5 years old) there are also restrictions.

Possible side effects of Lecrolin include skin reactions such as exanthema, dermatitis and urticaria. Malaise, dizziness, irritability, insomnia, hallucinations, anxiety, hand tremors, peripheral neuritis, tinnitus and other nervous symptoms may sometimes occur. The digestive system may cause nausea, gastroenteritis, unpleasant taste in the mouth, stomatitis, glossitis and other disorders. Impaired liver and kidney function are also rarely observed.

It is important to consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting to use Lecrolin. They will be able to evaluate your medical history, conduct necessary tests, and make recommendations on dosage and duration of treatment.

Lecrolin is an effective antiallergic drug, but each person may have an individual reaction to the medicine. If you experience any side effects or do not improve as expected, contact your doctor.
