Macronutrients: Implications for Health

Food macroelements are chemical elements that are found in foods and are necessary to maintain the health of the body. The daily requirement for macroelements is measured in at least tenths of a gram and includes elements such as sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus.

Improper distribution of macronutrients leads to bad consequences for the body, such as anemia, exhaustion, poisoning and depression. As a rule, children, elderly people, and pregnant women suffer from a lack of microelements.
