Metformin is an antidiabetic drug that belongs to the biguanides. Used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and type 1 diabetes mellitus as an additional drug. Release form: tablets of various dosages (500 mg, 850 mg and 250 mg).
Possible contraindications may include hypersensitivity to the drug, kidney disease and renal failure, severe liver dysfunction, respiratory and heart failure, myocardial infarction, metabolic acid, gastric or duodenal ulcer in the acute stage, pregnancy and lactation, children's age under 18 and elderly over 65.
