Myeloid metaplasia

Myeloid metaplasia is the process of transformation of cells from one type to another, which can occur in various tissues and organs. In this case, we are talking about the transformation of blood cells from the erythroid to the myeloid type. This can lead to various diseases such as myelodysplasia and myeloid leukemia.

Myeloid metaplasia occurs in the bone marrow, where blood cells form and develop. It can be caused by various factors such as infections, radiation, chemicals, and genetic mutations.

Symptoms of myeloid metaplasia may include an increase in the number of white blood cells in the blood, anemia, fever, bone and muscle pain, and other signs associated with bone marrow dysfunction.

Various methods are used to diagnose myeloid metaplasia, including blood tests and bone marrow biopsies. Treatment depends on the cause and severity of the disease. In some cases, chemotherapy or a bone marrow transplant may be required.
