Terminal nerves (terminal nerves) - in anatomy, nervous tissue belonging to the peripheral nervous system, which innervates its own cells (organelles) of the formations of the central nervous system - the sensory organs and the inner ear. The nerve is a branch from the brain stem to the dorsal horn of the spinal cord. The large nerves of the central nervous system, numbering 12 pairs, are called cranial processes (CS) and are located on the sides of the brain. The small nerve roots that emerge from the brainstem are called spinal nerves (SCNs). The nerve of the first pair of SMN is located near the skull at the junction of the medulla oblongata and the cerebellum. Others, called cranial nerves, emerge between the bases of the skull. The cranial processes of the spinal cord are small in size between the spinal openings in the cervical region.
