Nevus Mixed

A mixed nevus is a type of nevus that combines both benign and malignant elements. This may cause concern for patients, as some types of nevi can be precancerous or metastatic. However, a mixed nevus usually does not pose a threat to health and is only a cosmetic defect.

Mixed nevus is characterized by multiple patterns - multi-colored moles of different sizes, shapes and colors, sometimes covering large areas of the skin. It may also have a small “tip” of a mole or several such tips.

A person receives a similar nevus relief at birth - melanin pigments, which are embedded in the skin of a child, are formed during the natural processes of keratinization and differentiation of skin and dermal cells.

This type of mixed pigmented lesion cannot be confused with any other, because... it is caused by the fusion of benign melanocytic and malignant moles. When all benign elements of a mixed nevus are removed, the appearance of malignant cancer cells is unlikely, but there is a high risk of transformation of the nevus defect into a malignant formation (melanoma).

However, according to statistics, most papillomas disappear without a trace, without causing any discomfort to the patient. The prognosis is favorable if the removal of nevus tumors was successful and without relapses.

The clinical manifestations of mixed pigmented tumors are striking in their diversity: skin color from pink to black; uneven shades up to white dots and spots
