Orthokeratosis

Orthokeratosis Orthokeratosis is a pathological condition that is characterized by a violation of the integrity of the skin and the formation of crusts on its surface. The disease occurs as a result of a decrease in the transparency of the stratum corneum of the skin as a result of changes in it and is manifested by peeling, the appearance of scales, wounds and ulcers.

**Diagnostics** In clinical diagnosis, four forms of orthokeratosis are determined: superficial, typical, discoid and atrophic. In the superficial form, minor damage to the surface layer of the skin is observed: peeling, small infiltrates, papules with a diameter of 5 to 50 mm with little or no itching (often the skin is hypopigmented; with prolonged exacerbation, spotty elements appear).
