Paracystitis Retrovesical

Retrocystitis paracystitis (lat. paraprocystitis retrocystica) is an inflammation of the tissue located behind the bladder.

This disease occurs as a result of the spread of the inflammatory process from neighboring organs - the prostate gland, seminal vesicles, and bladder. The cause may also be injury or surgery on the pelvic organs.

The main symptoms of retrovesical paracystitis:

  1. pain in the lower abdomen that increases with urination;

  2. increased body temperature;

  3. urination disorders - frequent, painful;

  4. pus may appear in the urine.

To make a diagnosis, laboratory tests of urine, blood, and ultrasound of the pelvic organs are performed.

Treatment includes antibiotic therapy, anti-inflammatory drugs, and physical therapy. If abscess formation occurs, drainage of the abscess and necrectomy may be required. The prognosis with adequate treatment is favorable.
