Laryngeal cavity

Scientific name: cavum laryngeum, cavitas laryngi.

The laryngeal cavity (synonyms - laryngeal cavity, vocal sac, laryngoglossal sac) occupies the anterior and posterior parts of the larynx and is the largest cavity in the human body. In the cavity of the larynx there is a cavity the size of a glove; saliva accumulates in it during involuntary swallowing, and through it the doctor examines the larynx.
