The Portuguese man-of-war is a Portuguese physalia coral that is a member of the coral anemone family. It got its name in honor of the fact that it was used in the people and traditional medicine of Portugal. Physalia or Portuguese man-of-war are deep-sea organisms that can dive to 50 meters in depth. The name “Portuguese man-of-war corals” began to be called this species due to its dissimilar appearance from other corals and was classified as a group of coral snakes.

An aquatic animal of yellow or orange color with eight long tentacles, in the lower part of which there is a stinging apparatus. Physalia, like other cnidarians, is a predator, and the carnivorous digestive organs of this animal are adapted for eating prey.
