Rhabdomyoma

A benign smooth muscle tumor arising from the muscle spindles of hyperplastic (hypertrophied) fibroblasts, which determine its growth and division. This benign tumor occurs in men 3-5 times more often than in women. It can be single or multiple, but in any case the disease has a local growth pattern; less often, a chain can form from one focus. Often the lesions are visible to the naked eye, but can only be determined by palpation or ultrasound of the abdominal cavity.
