Thelaziosis

Thelaziosis is a parasitic disease caused by microscopic worms (thelyasia) that affect the eyes and eyelids of animals and humans. Thelyasia are common parasites in tropical and subtropical regions of the world, where they can cause serious health problems in humans and animals.

Thelaziosis occurs as inflammation of the eyelids and conjunctiva (the lining of the eye), which can lead to redness, swelling and watery eyes. In animals, thelasia can cause blindness and other serious vision problems.

Thelasia infection occurs through contact with infected animals or insects, as well as through contaminated food. Treatment of thelaziosis includes the use of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. However, if the infection is not treated properly, it can lead to serious complications such as blindness or vision loss.

To avoid contracting Thelaziosis, it is important to practice good hygiene, avoid contact with infected animals and food, and regularly check your pets for parasites.
