Tenoplasty

Tenoplasty is a surgical procedure to repair damaged tendons.

Tendons connect muscles to bones and allow movement. When tendons rupture or thin, the normal functioning of muscles and joints is disrupted.

Tenoplasty is performed to eliminate defects and restore the integrity of the tendons. During surgery, the surgeon removes the damaged portion of the tendon and replaces it with a graft from the patient's own tissue or a donor graft.

Indications for tenoplasty are tendon ruptures, inflammation and degeneration. The operation allows you to restore full mobility to the joints and prevent disability.

Tenoplasty is performed under local or general anesthesia. The recovery period takes from several weeks to several months, depending on the extent of the damage. After the operation, a set of rehabilitation measures is prescribed.
