Trichorrhexis Focal

Focal trichorrhexis (t. focalis) is a hair injury in which nodules form in certain areas of the hair. These nodules lead to thinning and weakening of the hair at the site of damage, which makes the hair brittle and brittle.

Trichorrhexis focal most often occurs with:

  1. Perm or hair coloring
  2. Using hair dryers, hair straighteners and other devices that expose hair to high temperatures
  3. Excessive exposure to sun and chlorinated water

Trichorrhexis focal is characterized by brittle, dull hair that breaks and falls out. When examined under a microscope, areas with nodules and thinning hair are visible.

Treatment of focal trichorrhexis involves eliminating the factors that cause hair damage, using special shampoos and masks, as well as procedures to strengthen and restore the hair structure. In severe cases, it may be necessary to trim the damaged ends or completely renew the hair.
