The ligament of Zinn is an anatomical formation that connects the tibia and fibula of the human foot. It is also known as the calcaneofibular-navicular-grass ligament. The formation consists of an internal ligament, consisting of the tendons of the tibia and fibula, and an external ligament, formed by the same set of tendons plus four fibers of the extensor digitorum and four fibers of the flexor of the foot.
According to Professor V.V. Strokovsky, Zinn's ligament arose due to the fact that in ancient humanity, while running, two problems had to be solved - speed of movement and stability of the foot upon impact
