Composition: Active substance - phenoxymethylpenicillin.

Indications for use: Infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract (bronchitis, bronchopneumonia), ENT organs (tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, otitis media, sinusitis), skin and soft tissues (erysipelas, contagious impetigo, erysipeloid, erythema migrans, furunculosis, abscess , phlegmon), oral cavity (pericoronitis, periodontitis, bacterial stomatitis, actinomycosis); botulism, scarlet fever, leptospirosis, prevention of bacterial infections after surgery in weakened patients, relapses of rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis, bacterial endocarditis, glomerulonephritis, chorea minor.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity (including to other penicillins, cephalosporins, carbapenems), acute stage of severe pneumonia, empyema, pericarditis, arthritis, gastrointestinal diseases accompanied by vomiting and diarrhea.

Side effects: Anorexia, nausea, vomiting, flatulence, diarrhea, dry mouth, taste disturbance, glossitis, stomatitis, vesicular cheilitis, interstitial nephritis, vasculitis, granulocytopenia, leukopenia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, eosinophilia, hemolytic anemia, pancytopenia, superinfection, pseudomembranous colitis, allergic phenomena: skin reactions (itching, urticaria, exanthema), bronchospasm, serum sickness, angioedema, anaphylactic shock.

Interaction: Bacteriostatic chemotherapeutic agents reduce the effect. Neomycin interferes with absorption, NSAIDs (indomethacin, phenylbutazone, salicylates) reduce excretion, increasing activity and toxicity. When combined with allopurinol, phenylbutazone, NSAIDs, calcium secretion decreases and the concentration of phenoxymethylpenicillin increases. Increases the effectiveness of anticoagulants by suppressing intestinal microflora and lowering the prothrombin index, weakening the effect of oral contraceptives taken. When taking ethinyl estradiol and drugs that metabolize PABA at the same time, there is a risk of breakthrough bleeding. Concomitant use of allopurinol increases the risk of allergic reactions. Antacids, glucosamine, laxatives, aminoglycosides slow down and reduce absorption; ascorbic acid - increases.

Overdose: No data.

Special instructions: During pregnancy, it is used only if the expected benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus. If allergic reactions develop in patients, the drug should be discontinued. For suspected staphylococcal infections, bacteriological studies are recommended. Before carrying out planned surgical interventions, in the postoperative period in patients receiving penicillin for the purpose of antirheumatic prophylaxis, it is necessary to double the dose. During therapy, it is recommended to monitor blood composition, liver and/or kidney function. With long-term treatment, one should keep in mind the potential for the growth of resistant strains of microorganisms, fungi and pseudomembranous colitis (the drug should be stopped, and appropriate treatment should be prescribed based on the results of a bacteriological examination; taking antiperistaltic drugs is contraindicated). In patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporins, possible cross-allergy should be kept in mind. For severe pneumonia, empyema, sepsis, pericarditis, menin
