Dosage forms: film-coated tablets 600 mg, granules for oral suspension 100 mg/5 ml, solution for infusion 2 mg/ml

Composition: Active substance - linezolid.

Indications for use: Pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections, enterococcal infections, incl. caused by vancomycin-resistant strains of Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus faecium and other infections caused by sensitive anaerobic and aerobic gram-positive microorganisms, including infections accompanied by bacteremia.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity. Use during pregnancy is possible if the expected effect of therapy exceeds the potential risk to the fetus. When breastfeeding - with caution.

Side effects: Headache, reversible anemia, thrombocytopenia, increased blood pressure, abdominal pain, cramp, bloating, diarrhea, nausea, abnormal liver function tests (total bilirubin, ALT, AST, alkaline phosphatase), vomiting, taste disturbance, pseudomembranous colitis; candidiasis.

Interaction: Strengthens the pressor effect of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride and phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride. Should not be combined with sympatho- and dopaminomimetics, vasopressors.

Overdose: In case of overdose, symptomatic therapy is necessary; measures aimed at maintaining glomerular filtration, hemodialysis.

Special instructions: For patients on hemodialysis, linezolid is prescribed after dialysis. It is not recommended to prescribe to patients with pheochromocytoma, carcinoid, thyrotoxicosis. If co-administration is necessary, the dosage of adrenergic drugs should be adjusted. During treatment, it is necessary to avoid foods containing tyramine, incl. high-quality beer, smoked ham.
