Conductivity

Conductivity is the ability of materials to conduct electric current, that is, to respond to an electrical stimulus. This property is due to the presence of free charge carriers in the substance - particles that can move through the material and transfer electric charge. Conductivity is characteristic of metals, semiconductors, electrolytes, plasma, electrolytic solutions, as well as some systems of living organisms. There are atomic conductivity, conductivity in dielectrics and ionic conductivity. Conductivity properties are very important for electronics, metallurgy and medicine
