Sepsis Cutaneous

Skin sepsis is a severe infectious skin disease caused by the penetration of pathogenic microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, viruses) and their metabolic products into the skin.

Reasons for the development of skin sepsis:

  1. Wounds, cuts, burns, cracks in the skin that become infected with microbes.

  2. Chronic skin diseases - eczema, psoriasis, etc.

  3. Weakening of the immune system.

  4. Circulatory and lymphatic drainage disorders.

Symptoms of cutaneous sepsis:

  1. Redness, swelling, soreness of the affected areas of the skin.

  2. Purulent rashes - pustules, boils, carbuncles.

  3. Fever, malaise, weakness.

  4. Enlargement of regional lymph nodes.

Complications:

  1. Spread of infection through the blood and lymph to internal organs.

  2. Septic shock, multiple organ failure.

Treatment of skin sepsis includes:

  1. Antibiotics, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory drugs.

  2. Local treatment - antiseptics, sanitation of purulent foci.

  3. Improving blood circulation and lymphatic drainage.

  4. Improving immunity and general condition of the body.

Prevention of skin sepsis consists of following the rules of personal hygiene, timely treatment of skin diseases, and strengthening the immune system.
